AI-Powered Radio Creator Hits iPhone with YouTube Music’s ‘Ask for Music’ Feature
YouTube Music Brings AI Radio Generator to iPhone and iPad
YouTube Music has expanded its AI-powered "Ask Music" radio generator, initially released for Android in September, to the iPhone and iPad with version 8.10+. This feature introduces an "Ask for music" shelf on the Home tab, featuring a carousel of 10 suggested prompts that users can tap to create custom radio stations.
Users also have the option to enter their own prompts describing moods, activities, or listening experiences. After submitting a prompt, YouTube Music generates a custom radio station within seconds, displaying the first three songs with autoplay enabled and an option to save the station to the library.
This addition complements the existing Music Tuner feature, accessible from the Library tab, which allows users to create radio stations based on artist preferences and additional filters. The "Ask Music" feature is available in the US, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia for YouTube Music or Music Premium subscribers.
