AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4 Receive New Developer Beta Firmware

Apple has released a new developer beta firmware for the AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4, increasing the build number to 7E5080a from the previous 7E5067b. This update is available for both USB-C and Lightning models of these devices but not for the AirPods Max or other non-H2 devices.

While no specific details about the contents of this beta are provided, it likely includes bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements rather than new features. The latest firmware versions available to non-developers remain 7B20 and 7B21, which introduced Hearing Health features to the AirPods Pro 2.

To install the beta firmware, users need a registered developer account (now free) and must enable Developer Mode on their device. After enabling Developer Mode, they can access Pre-Release Beta Firmware under Settings -> Developer -> AirPods Testing and select which AirPods to enroll in the beta program.
