Google has opened up experimental access to Gemini Nano, its on-device AI model, for all Android developers with the AI Edge SDK via AICore on Pixel 9 devices. This move follows limited access that was initially provided to Google and OEM apps. Developers will be able to experiment with text-to-text prompts, and support for more devices and modalities is planned for the future. The process involves joining the aicore-experimental Google group to gain access.
