In recent weeks, Chrome for Android has started working on a bottom address bar, which is now available in an early look through the latest version of Chrome Canary. This design change involves moving the browser's UI to the bottom of the screen.

As this is still in its testing phase, some elements such as the three-dot overflow menu and the tab switcher remain unchanged. The gesture handle also overlaps but remains usable. To enable this feature on your device, install Chrome Canary (an experimental version), enable chrome://flags/#android-bottom-toolbar, restart the browser, and choose 'Bottom' under settings > Address bar.

It is hoped that the bottom address bar will officially launch on Android after it was introduced on iOS last year.
