Google has finally brought its useful incident reporting feature from Maps to Android Auto, but if you’re not seeing it yet, it might be due to a frustrating design constraint.

Incident reporting on Google Maps for Android Auto allows drivers to send in a report for road hazards they find along their route, such as construction, closed lanes, traffic jams, accidents, and speed traps. However, the button to access this feature may not appear depending on the size of the screen in your car - specifically if there’s not enough vertical space.

The "Hazard" button appears along the left side of the display, but if the display isn’t tall enough to show all of these buttons, the one for incident reporting gets removed. This issue seems to be more common among vehicles with displays that have a shorter aspect ratio.
