Apple Begins Testing iPhone 17 Production in India for First Time

Apple has moved a portion of its iPhone 17 manufacturing testing to India, marking the first time an iPhone design has been partly developed outside China. The move is part of Apple's ongoing efforts to diversify its supply chain beyond China.

Apple has moved some iPhone 17 development and testing to India for the first time, alongside an increase in manufacturing in the country. The base model, code-named V57, is being developed at a Foxconn facility in Bangalore. This move follows Apple's years-long efforts to reduce its over-reliance on China as a single source for its manufacturing.
