Writer/director Jon Watts has revealed that he will not be making a sequel to the successful Apple TV+ original movie "Wolfs," despite the streaming platform commissioning him for it. The news emerges amid apparent changes in movie strategy at Apple, following a series of expensive failures.

Watts expressed shock at Apple’s last-minute decision to release the movie on its streaming service instead of the promised wide theatrical release. He claimed this choice was made without any discussion or explanation and against his wishes. Watts further accused the company of announcing that he was writing a sequel, creating an impression of positivity around their decision, despite his request not to do so.

Apple’s alteration in plans marked 'Wolfs' as the most-watched original film on Apple TV+ at the time. Nonetheless, Apple is said to have considerably reduced its movie roster following a string of high-cost failures, including "Killers of the Flower Moon." The move implies that Apple could be reconsidering their theatrical strategies and leaning towards creating or acquiring more affordable movies.

Watts indicated he was open to working with the stars George Clooney and Brad Pitt again but declared he would not trust Apple as a creative partner in future movie prospects.
