Apple has amended its email wording to developers from saying an app is 'approved for distribution' to 'now ready for distribution,' addressing the technicality that previously gave the impression of approving a controversial porn-browsing app, Hot Tub, on iPhones via third-party app stores. This change clarifies Apple's stance without altering the meaning conveyed to developers. The update comes in response to the EU’s Digital Markets Act (DMA), which mandated that Apple allow third-party app stores and led to misunderstandings about Apple's content approval policies.
