Counterpoint's Global Tablet Market Tracker shows the overall tablet market saw an increase in shipments year-on-year in Q2 2024, with global shipments increasing approximately 15% on the same period in 2023. Apple's iPad upgrades prompted a 14% boost in its own shipments, helping it maintain its dominance in this sector.

Changes in tablet shipments in Q2 2024 [Counterpoint]

Although Apple didn't have the biggest year-on-year change among observed manufacturers, its market share meant its increase still affected the overall market significantly. Samsung, Huawei, Lenovo and Xiaomi all had increased growth, but with much smaller market shares.

Despite the positive results, the unnamed group of "other" vendors endured a 2% drop in shipments, resulting in their market share dropping from 28% to 23%. For the immediate future, Counterpoint anticipates more rises as improving macroeconomic conditions continue to restore demand.
