The ASUS Zenbook A14, a MacBook Air lookalike, surpasses Apple's design in several key areas while being priced lower than the 13-inch MacBook Air. Here are the five notable ways it outperforms its inspiration:

  • Weight: The Zenbook A14 is lighter, weighing between 2.2 and 2.4 pounds, compared to the MacBook Air's 2.7 pounds.
  • Casing Material: ASUS uses a proprietary material called Ceraluminum, which is 30% lighter and three times stronger than anodized aluminum. It undergoes rigorous testing for scratch resistance, shock resistance, and wear resistance.
  • Display: The Zenbook A14 features an OLED screen, while the MacBook Air has an IPS LCD with miniLED backlighting. Apple is not expected to switch to OLED screens until 2028.
  • Bezels: ASUS claims to have achieved thinner bezels on the sides of the screen compared to the MacBook Air.
  • Battery Life: ASUS boasts a battery life of over 32 hours of continuous video playback, significantly more than Apple's claim of up to 18 hours.
