Microsoft has issued a critical warning to travelers regarding a surge in cyberattacks targeting hotel Wi-Fi networks. The campaign utilizes highly realistic, fake login pages that mimic legitimate hotel authentication portals to steal sensitive user credentials. Once a traveler attempts to connect to the guest network, they are prompted to enter account details which are immediately harvested by malicious actors. To mitigate these risks, security experts advise using a VPN, enabling multi-factor authentication, and verifying network names with hotel staff before entering any private information.
