Disney+ Cracks Down on Password Sharing, Implements Paid Add-Ons

Disney+ cracks down on password sharing outside households, introduces paid add-on
By Blip Tech 1 min read

Disney+ is cracking down on password sharing in the U.S., forcing users who share accounts across households to add a paid sharing add-on to their account. The main subscription is meant to be used within a household, with family members using the same account in different households encouraged to pay for their own subscription or be added as an "Extra Member" at an additional cost. This crackdown follows limited testing over the summer and comes at a time when Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN are raising their prices.
