Emerging Filmmakers in India Harness the Power of iPhone 16 Pro Max to Create Unique Short Films

The Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI) Select: Shot on iPhone project is empowering emerging Indian filmmakers to explore the limits of technology and creativity using the iPhone 16 Pro Max. This initiative, now in its second year, pairs four young filmmakers with established mentors Konkona Sen Sharma, Vikramaditya Motwane, Lijo Jose Pellissery, and Vetri Maaran. The iPhone 16 Pro Max has been instrumental in allowing these filmmakers to push boundaries:

• Amrita Bagchi created a psychological thriller, 'Tinctoria,' using the Cinematic mode for tracking flying objects at 4K120 fps.
• Rohin Raveendran Nair shot 'Kovarty,' a love story with magical realism elements, capturing unique point-of-view shots inside a typewriter.
• Chanakya Vyas directed 'Mangya,' a coming-of-age tale, using Action mode to track his actor for long distances without a gimbal.
• Shalini Vijayakumar produced 'Seeing Red,' a comedic horror film, utilizing the 120mm lens for tight shots and dramatic slow-motion sequences.
