Empowering All: Apple's Innovative Accessibility Features on Global Awareness Day
New Apple Videos Highlight Accessibility Features for Global Accessibility Awareness Day
Apple has released two new videos to mark Global Accessibility Awareness Day. The first video, 'Music Haptics on iPhone,' showcases the Music Haptics feature introduced in iOS 18, which uses taps, textures, and vibrations to help users, including those who are hard of hearing, feel music. The video features Kenneth 'Kiddo K' Alexander, a rapper who is hard of hearing, demonstrating how the haptics feature enhances his musical experience.
The second video, 'Magnifier on Mac,' highlights an upcoming Magnifier feature for macOS 16 and iOS 19. It demonstrates how the feature can assist users with low vision by allowing them to zoom in on content using their iPhone as a camera. The video shows a young woman using her Mac and iPhone to adjust brightness, contrast, color filters, and perspective to make text and images easier to see.
On May 13, Apple also previewed additional accessibility tools such as Accessibility Nutrition Labels, Accessibility Reader, Braille Access, Live captions on Apple Watch, Live recognition in Apple Vision Pro, and Magnifier for Mac.
