Erroneous 'You added a new card' email from Google Pay causes alarm
Google Pay users received an erroneous email stating they added a new card to their account, causing concern and confusion among recipients. The email was sent by mistake due to a bug on Google's end, which caused expired payment methods to reappear. Although this issue appeared to be related to financial information and banking, there was no unauthorized access to users' accounts. Google acknowledged the problem in October 2024 and apologized for any inconvenience caused.
