Fitbit Redesigns Water Logging on Android and iOS

Fitbit has introduced a new design for the Water logging feature in its mobile app, available now on both Android (version 4.38) and iOS (version 4.40). The update was initially rolled out to Android users and later expanded to iPhone users through a server-side update.

Key Changes:

  • New Layout: The Water page now features four top tabs for viewing data by Day, Week, Month, and Year. This replaces the previous reverse-chronological list and aligns with the modern design of other stats pages in the app.
  • Removed 'Quick Add': The 'Quick Add For Today' option has been removed from the main page, which might be less convenient for users who log their water intake frequently. However, they can still log water using the floating action button (FAB) or an app shortcut.
  • Log Water Screen: The new screen offers default increments for logging water: Glass (8 fl oz), Bottle (16 fl oz), and Large bottle (24 fl oz). Users can also input a custom amount at the bottom of the screen.

User Feedback:

Some users have suggested integrating with Google Tasks to make it easier to manage their daily water intake alongside other tasks.

This redesign is part of Fitbit's ongoing efforts to improve user experience and modernize its app interface. The company is also working on updates for Food logging and Health Metrics.
