Gemini App Revives 2.0 Flash Thinking (Experimental) on Android and iOS

Google restores 2.0 Flash Thinking (experimental) feature for Gemini app users on Android and iOS after a brief outage.

Over the weekend, users of the Gemini app on Android and iOS temporarily lost access to the experimental feature called '2.0 Flash Thinking.' The issue was identified as a bug and has since been resolved, with access being restored by Monday morning. The 2.0 Flash Thinking feature was first introduced in December and subsequently updated for developers in January. It became available in the Gemini app in February, providing users with enhanced efficiency and speed. Despite the recent disruption, it remains an experimental offering and is currently the only stable model alongside 'Gemini 2.0 Flash.' The feature supports Deep Research and there are no immediate plans to make it generally available, given the upcoming Gemini 2.5 which will have thinking capabilities built-in natively.
