The Google Home Favorites widget is now in preview and updates every 30 minutes. Users enrolled in the Preview Program can place the new widget on their homescreen, choose to sync with favorites from the home app or select controls unique to the widget. The widget enables users to control devices like lights and plugs with a tap that keeps them on the screen. Devices needing more authentication are denoted by a chevron symbol. Users can resize the widget and add multiple ones on their homescreen; tapping on empty space will open the app.
