Google Maps on Android and iOS has introduced new stair 'callouts' in walking directions, represented by a blue icon/pin directly integrated with the route. This feature helps users avoid routes or be aware of stairs along their way. Last year, Google added wheelchair-accessible routes that can be accessed by tapping the settings icon in directions for 'Trip options' > 'Wheelchair accessible.' Users can choose to 'Avoid stairs and prefer elevators,' which is also useful for those with luggage or strollers. Stairs are also noted in bicycling directions.
