Chrome 136 for Android: Visual Tweaks and Dynamic Color Changes

Google has released Chrome 136 for Android, introducing several visual changes. The most notable alteration is the removal of Dynamic Color in various parts of the browser, especially when using the dark theme.

  • Dark Theme Changes: The overflow menu now has a gray background instead of being lightly themed. Similarly, the tab switcher's non-active tabs have a gray background, while the current page remains unchanged.
  • Light UI Adjustments: Dynamic Color has been removed from some light interfaces, such as parts of the tab switcher, but not all elements are affected.

These changes are relatively minor and might be easily overlooked after initial notice. They are also present in the current Beta and Dev versions of Chrome for Android, suggesting they may not be temporary.

  • Other Visual Changes: The corner radius of cards in the tab switcher has been made more rounded, with similar updates planned for other menus and elements in future releases.

Chrome 136 is available via the Google Play Store.
