Google has simplified its Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy, first introduced in March 2023. The updated policy outlines four categories of prohibited behavior and provides clear examples of conduct that is not acceptable. While there are no new policies or changes in enforcement, Google may make exceptions based on educational, artistic, scientific, or documentary considerations, or where harms are outweighed by substantial benefits to the public. The updated policy is effective as of December 17, 2024.
