Google Wallet Introduces Kids Access on Android

• Rollout: Starting this month, Google Wallet is rolling out a feature that allows supervised children to access NFC tap-to-pay functionality on Android devices.
• Integration with Family Link: The new feature is integrated with Google's Family Link parental control app, enabling parents to monitor and manage their child’s transactions.
• Usage: Kids can use the feature for in-store payments, while the Wallet app can also store event tickets, gift cards, library cards, and other supported passes. However, online transactions and private passes like IDs and health cards are not supported at launch.
• Parental Controls: Parents must enter their Google Account password to add a credit or debit card, and they can manage payment methods remotely. They will receive emails about transactions and can view recent purchases in Family Link.
• Security: NFC payments require device authentication via PIN, password, fingerprint, or facial recognition.
• Availability: The feature is rolling out over the coming weeks in the US, UK, Spain, Poland, and Australia, starting with the Pixel 9a.
• Previous Features: Last year, Fitbit Ace LTE was the first kids device to support Google Wallet. Recently, Google also announced a Family Link app redesign and other kid-friendly features.
