Google is expanding its Play Protect feature to India, which will block sideloading for some Android apps in an effort to reduce scams and fraud. The 'enhanced fraud protection' feature was first introduced earlier this year in Singapore. It will block sideloading for apps that request sensitive permissions often abused by fraudsters, such as reading incoming one-time passwords or monitoring device activity. The pilot program will begin in India next month and roll out to all Android devices in the country through a Play Services update.'
