iOS 18.2 added a faster way to message Siri and ChatGPT. The Type to Siri control can now be assigned to the iPhone's Action Button, providing quick access to messaging mode for both AI assistants. This is an improvement over previous methods of enabling typing mode via the Accessibility settings, which made voice interactions more challenging. Users can also set up text replacements to quickly enter prefixes like 'ask ChatGPT'.
