iPhone Fold Rumored to Feature Advanced Camera Technologies and Touch ID

According to leaks from the Weibo account 'Digital Chat Station,' Apple's upcoming iPhone Fold will incorporate innovative camera technologies for both its internal and external displays. The large, internal folding display is set to use 'under-screen camera technology' to eliminate visible gaps, while the smaller external display will feature a more conventional hole-punch camera.

The under-screen camera tech aims to provide a seamless visual experience by integrating the camera into the lit display without compromising functionality. This approach has been previously discussed by the same leaker for both the iPhone Fold and a potential folding iPad.

Adding to the advanced features, the iPhone Fold will reportedly use Touch ID on a side button for biometric security, rather than Face ID. This decision is attributed to space constraints in designing a foldable smartphone, simplifying manufacturing processes, and addressing challenges associated with integrating Face ID into a compact form factor.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has also forecasted that space limitations would make adding Face ID difficult, suggesting Touch ID as a viable alternative for securing the device.
