In iPadOS 18, Apple has moved the Mail settings to a new location under Settings->Apps->Mail. This guide explains how to add, remove, and configure mail accounts in iPadOS 18.

Adding New Mail Accounts:

  • Navigate to Settings -> Apps -> Mail -> Mail Accounts.
  • Tap Add Account to start the process of adding a new mail account.
  • Choose from options like iCloud, Exchange, Outlook, or web-based services (Google, Yahoo!, AOL).
  • For private mail servers, select Other and input your IMAP or POP server details.
  • Fill out the required fields: Name, Email, Password, and optionally Description.
  • Select IMAP for most modern mail servers unless you need to use POP.
  • Enter the incoming and outgoing mail server information provided by your ISP.
  • Verify the settings, and if successful, save the account. You can also enable Notes if supported by your provider.

Removing and Configuring Mail Accounts:

  • From the Mail Accounts pane, tap the account you want to remove or configure.
  • Tap Delete Account at the bottom of the next screen to remove the account.
  • To change settings, use options like display label, Mail/Notes switches, and advanced settings such as SMTP, SSL, port numbers, and authentication.
  • For S/MIME configurations, enter signing and certificate info under the Advanced pane.

Apple has made the process straightforward with automatic server verification to ensure secure account setup.
