Meta's Revolutionary Smart Glasses with Neural Wristband Controls Set to Launch in 2025
Meta's Upcoming Smart Glasses with Display
Meta plans to launch its first smart glasses equipped with a display later this year, running on a highly customized version of Android. The project, codenamed 'Hypernova,' features a home screen displaying app icons for functionalities like taking pictures, viewing photos, and using maps. Users can also mirror phone notifications through the glasses.
The glasses will not have an app store, relying instead on the Meta View app. Controls include swipes and taps on the glasses similar to existing Ray-Ban models, as well as a 'Neural Wristband' for more precise gestures. The wristband recognizes hand movements, providing finer control over the device. Meta first introduced the wristband with its 'Orion' concept last year.
The product is expected to come in a new triangular prism carrying case and could cost around $1,000. Samsung is also reportedly preparing to launch its own smart glasses later this year.
