Samsung Hits Pause on One UI 7 Update for Galaxy S24, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6: What Went Wrong?
Samsung has faced a significant setback in rolling out its One UI 7 update, which was initially launched last week for Galaxy S24, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6 devices. Shortly after the release, Samsung abruptly paused the rollout without providing a clear explanation. In their statement to Android Authority, Samsung mentioned that they are updating the rollout schedule to 'ensure the best possible experience' and will share more details shortly.
Rumors suggest that the delay is due to several critical issues discovered in the update. One issue involves some Galaxy S24 users being unable to unlock their devices, while another user reported a bug causing the lock screen to be squished and stretched, rendering it unusable. Additionally, there are reports of battery drain problems and security vulnerabilities with Samsung’s 'Secure Folder' feature.
Despite these challenges, Samsung has outlined improvements and new features in One UI 7, such as enhancements to the camera app and updates to the Galaxy Weather app. The company is also working on better integration of third-party apps with One UI 7’s Now Bar.
