Samsung’s Next Galaxy Watch Update Preps Now Bar, Shortcuts, Battery Charging Limits
Samsung is gearing up for a significant update to the Galaxy Watch with several new features and enhancements. The update, expected to debut in July alongside the Galaxy Watch 8, includes:
-
Now Bar: A feature similar to Google’s At a Glance complication, the Now Bar will provide quick access to contextual suggestions, maps, media controls, now briefs, and sports scores. Users can double pinch to open the Now Bar and navigate through notifications or tiles.
-
Shortcuts App/Widget: This new addition allows users to create groups of app shortcuts that appear as tiles on the watch face in 2×1 or 2×2 formats.
-
Shuffle Watch Faces: A feature to randomize and refresh the appearance of the watch face based on user favorites, ensuring a fresh look each day.
-
Battery Protection: A feature similar to Adaptive Charging, which will stop charging when the battery reaches a certain level and resume when it drops below that threshold. Users can customize these charge limits.
