Samsung’s Android XR Headset Set to Outshine Apple Vision Pro in Display Quality

Samsung's upcoming Android XR headset, known as 'Project Moohan,' is reported to feature superior display quality compared to the Apple Vision Pro. According to The Elec, the device will use 1.3-inch OLED on Silicon (OLEDOS) displays with a pixel density of 3,800 PPI. This outpaces the Apple Vision Pro’s 3,400 PPI and is significantly higher than typical smartphone displays, which range from 500 to 600 PPI, and the Meta Quest 3's 1,200 PPI.

While Samsung’s display technology is impressive, it may come with a high price tag. The report suggests that similar Sony panels, which achieve over 4,000 PPI, can cost upwards of $1,000 per panel. Apple Vision Pro displays are estimated to cost around $300 each, and Meta is also exploring OLEDOS technology but with a focus on more affordable solutions.

Samsung's 'Project Moohan' is set to launch later this year, adding to the growing competition in the XR headset market.
