Smartphone buyers prioritize battery life over AI features

A survey has found that smartphone buyers are more interested in battery life than AI features when considering an upgrade, with only 10% currently using AI for tasks like photo editing and just 18% citing AI integrations as their main reason to buy a new phone.

A survey has found that smartphone buyers are more interested in features like battery life than they are in AI capabilities. Only a small minority of consumers are currently using AI features on their smartphones, and it doesn’t seem to be a significant driver for purchasing decisions. The biggest reasons for buying a new phone were found to be longer battery life, more storage, and better camera features. Nearly half of smartphone owners say they’re not willing to pay extra money to access AI on their phones.
