The floodgates are now open: a rush of exciting new emulators have arrived on the App Store, allowing retro gamers to play their favorite childhood classics on their iPhone

The App Store is seeing a gold rush of retro game emulators, with several emulators recently approved and many more on the way, offering users a wide range of options to play classic games on their iPhones.

The App Store has seen an influx of emulators following the reversal of a rule that effectively banned them. Popular emulators now on the App Store include Delta, eNES, Emu64 XL, Folium, Gamma, iDOS, iMSX2, PPSSPP, Provenance, RetroArch, Retroman, SameBoy, ScummVM, UTM SE, and VirtualFriend. Development of these emulators continues with improvements and bug fixes being implemented. Some emulators such as MAME4iOS and DolphiniOS are not in the App Store, due to issues with Apple's policy against Just In Time (JIT) compilation. Others like Ignited and Provenance are in TestFlight and awaiting App Store release.
