UK Consumer Rights Group Sues Apple Over iCloud Monopoly
UK consumer rights group Which? is suing Apple for allegedly maintaining an 'unlawful' iCloud monopoly, forcing users to buy iCloud storage as it doesn't allow other cloud services to integrate deeply with the system for data backup. The class action lawsuit is seeking damages of about £70 per individual, potentially affecting around 40 million people in the UK with a total expected payout of around £3 billion. Apple rejects any suggestion that its iCloud practices are anticompetitive.
