Unlocking Console Emulation on iOS: StikDebug Brings JIT Compilation to the App Store
The arrival of a JIT enabler on the App Store may unlock Wii and Switch emulation for iOS devices, potentially marking a significant shift in Apple's stance on console emulators. Previously, due to Apple's restrictions on just-in-time (JIT) compilation, running GameCube and Wii titles on iOS was nearly impossible. However, an app called StikDebug, which enables on-device JIT, has now been approved for the U.S. App Store. While it initially launched on the AltStore in Europe, its availability on the official App Store could mean that users can run DolphiniOS (a GameCube and Wii emulator) and even meloNX (a Nintendo Switch emulator) without sideloading or tethering to a PC or Mac. Interested users are advised to download StikDebug while it remains available, as its approval might be temporary.
