AirPods Max Get a Major Boost with Lossless Audio and Ultra-Low Latency in April Update
Experience music like never before with the upcoming AirPods Max update, bringing lossless audio and ultra-low latency for a truly immersive sound.

Apple Announces AirPods Max Update with Lossless Audio Support
Apple has announced a software update for the AirPods Max, set to be released in April alongside iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, and macOS Sequoia 15.4. The update introduces two major features: lossless audio and ultra-low latency audio.
- Lossless Audio: AirPods Max will support 24-bit, 48 kHz lossless audio, preserving the original quality of recordings. This feature will enhance Personalized Spatial Audio, providing a more immersive and accurate listening experience. Apple Music users can enjoy over 100 million songs in lossless audio.
- Ultra-Low Latency Audio: The update will significantly reduce lag time, making it comparable to the native built-in speakers on Macs, iPads, and iPhones. This improvement is particularly beneficial for gamers and livestreamers, ensuring smooth and responsive audio during gameplay and streaming sessions.
Additionally, Apple is now selling a new USB-C to 3.5mm audio cable for $39, allowing AirPods Max users to connect their headphones to devices with 3.5mm audio jacks.
