Amazon Says Goodbye to the Appstore for Android: What You Need to Know

The store has served as an alternative to Google Play for years, and its closure will affect users who have manually installed it on their devices. Apps downloaded from the Amazon Appstore may not function properly after the shutdown. Additionally, the Amazon Coins program is being discontinued, with no further purchases possible as of February 20, 2025. Unspent coins will be refunded at a rate of 100 coins to $1. Fire Tablet, Fire TV, and other Amazon devices will continue to use the store.
