Amazon Set to Unveil Next-Gen Conversational Alexa at Upcoming Media Event
On February 26, Amazon is set to unveil a new version of Alexa powered by generative AI, enhancing its conversational abilities and allowing it to act as an 'agent' for users. The updated Alexa will be capable of remembering preferences, handling multiple prompts in one session, and performing actions without direct user involvement. Initially available to a limited number of users for free, the service may eventually become a paid subscription costing $5 to $10 per month. This development puts more pressure on Apple to improve Siri, which is not expected to see major AI enhancements until 2026 with iOS 19.
