Amazon's AI-Powered 'Buy for Me' Feature Reimagines Online Shopping

Amazon has introduced a new 'Buy for me' feature that leverages agentic AI to make purchases on other retailers' sites, all while the user remains within the Amazon Shopping app. This innovative service allows users to buy items from external retailers without leaving the familiar Amazon environment. When you select 'Buy for me,' an estimated total is displayed, which includes item price, shipping, and taxes. The agentic AI then navigates to the retailer's site to complete the purchase using your default contact, payment, and shipping information.
However, it’s important to note that these transactions are not technically Amazon purchases, so Amazon's policies on returns, refunds, and other terms do not apply. This feature is currently being tested and represents a significant step in using AI to enhance user convenience and further solidify Amazon's position as a one-stop shopping solution.
