Android 15: Duplicate Material You Colors Not a Bug, Says Google

Strange behavior in Android 15 leaves Material You theming color palettes being duplicated, leading to fewer options, but Google says everything is 'working as intended.'

Android 15 users have noticed that the Material You theming color palettes are being duplicated, leading to fewer options. This behavior is also present in Android 14 but was not happening in earlier versions like Android 13. Google has marked this issue as 'won't fix (intended behavior)' on their Issue Tracker. One theory for this is that the customization page is set to show around a dozen color choices, and if enough palettes are not generated to fill the list, duplicates are used.
