Android Auto Bug Turns Scrolling into a Nightmarish Experience for Users

A frustrating bug in Android Auto is making it nearly impossible to scroll through apps when music is playing, rendering many features useless.

Android Auto Apps Suffer from Scrolling Bug

Android Auto users are experiencing an annoying bug that affects scrolling in various apps, such as Amazon Music, Podcast Addict, and SoundCloud. The issue, which has been reported since early February 2025, causes users to be unable to scroll past a few rows before being forced back to the top of the list. This problem occurs only when music is playing; when content is paused, scrolling works as expected.

The bug appears to stem from an update to Android Auto rather than individual app developers, as most media apps on the platform are built using the same framework. The issue has gained significant attention on Google’s forums, with a thread about it trending recently. Prior to this problem, some users also noted issues with the 'search by letter' functionality in YouTube Music.

There is currently no official word on when the bug will be fixed.
