Android Auto Update Teases Future Climate Control Integration
Android Auto Update Hints at Temperature Controls
A new update for Android Auto (v13.9.151004-release.daily) reveals code indicating that Google might be working on temperature control features within the platform. The update includes strings such as 'HI,' 'LO,' and 'OFF' settings for controlling temperature, suggesting a potential integration with car climate controls. However, it's unclear how or when these features will be implemented, as most vehicles using Android Auto currently lack this level of integration.
This isn't the first time Google has hinted at new local features for cars. Last year, they were found to be building a 'local media' feature that references radio stations, though this feature hasn't yet been publicly released.
The update also comes with some reports that Android Auto updates have caused issues for some users, particularly with wireless connectivity.
