Android's Animation Improvements: A Focus Too Far?

While I'm glad Android is getting better animations, the overemphasis on one specific test feels like it takes away from what actually matters

OnePlus and Oppo have recently announced updates to their Android skins, OxygenOS and ColorOS, with a heavy focus on improving animations through a new 'parallel processing' method. This update allows two animations to play at once, making the user experience smoother. The inspiration for these improvements came from an online 'test' popular among enthusiasts, where users rapidly open and close apps to see if their phone can handle it. While improvements are welcome, some argue that this specific test is not a real-world scenario and that the focus on animations should not come at the expense of other important aspects of the user experience.
