Apple Analyst Predicts No Major AirPods Updates Until 2026

Apple analyst predicts no major AirPods hardware updates until the next-generation AirPods Pro with Infrared cameras in 2026, contradicting earlier reports of a 2025 release.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has stated that there will be no major updates to the AirPods lineup until the release of AirPods Pro 3, which is set for 2026. This contradicts previous reports suggesting a launch in 2025. Despite this, Apple has continued to enhance the capabilities of existing AirPods models through software updates, including enabling them to function as hearing aids. The over-ear AirPods Max may not see a new version until 2027 at the earliest.
