Apple AR Glasses Still Years Away From Release, Despite Cool Demos from Meta and Snapchat

Apple's AR glasses are still 3-5 years away from release, according to Mark Gurman's Power On newsletter, as the company continues to work on miniaturizing compute components, creating a fashionable design, and developing high-resolution displays for the device.

Apple is reportedly around 3-5 years away from potentially releasing AR glasses according to Mark Gurman's Power On newsletter. Although the company continues to work on this technology, it appears that a release isn't imminent.

This is despite other companies such as Meta and Snapchat showcasing augmented reality glasses. However, these are either prototypes or only available to developers and not consumer products.

There are numerous challenges Apple would need to overcome in order to bring AR glasses to the mass market such as miniaturizing compute components, creating fashionable designs with sufficient battery life and developing high resolution displays without compromising too much on the media experience.

It's likely that the technology could be developed for extremely expensive AR glasses but not at a consumer friendly price point.
