Apple Confirms New Detroit Store Coming Soon to Revitalize Downtown
Summary
Apple has confirmed plans to open a new Apple Store in downtown Detroit, potentially as early as summer 2025. The company posted a general recruitment notice on its website but hasn't disclosed specific job positions, the exact opening date, or the store's precise location yet. It is believed that the store will occupy two currently closed storefronts at 1426 and 1434 Woodward Avenue, according to the Detroit Free Press.
This new Apple Store will be the fourth in the greater Detroit area and the seventh in Michigan. The other three stores are located in Novi, Troy, and Clinton Township. Bedrock Real Estate, owned by Dan Gilbert, is managing the property where the store will be situated. Renovation signs have been visible since June 2024, and Gilbert has been involved in bringing an Apple Developer Academy to Detroit.
The new store is expected to contribute to the ongoing revitalization of downtown Detroit, a area that has seen significant economic development in recent years. It will be located between a boutique hotel and the headquarters of General Motors.
