Apple Faces Major Setbacks: Could Rebuild Siri AI from Scratch

Apple has announced a delay in the launch of an updated version of Siri, which was originally planned for release as part of iOS 18.4 and later pushed to iOS 18.5. According to Bloomberg, Apple's software chief Craig Federighi raised concerns that the new features did not work properly during his testing. These issues have led to further delays, with some within Appleās AI team suggesting that the features may need to be scrapped and rebuilt from scratch. The revamped Siri is now expected to launch in 2026 or later. Additionally, there are internal discussions about whether leadership changes should be made within Apple's AI division. Despite these setbacks, Apple remains committed to enhancing Siri, as evidenced by recent updates such as improved conversational capabilities and the integration with ChatGPT.
