Apple Looks to Lower-Resolution Screens for More Affordable Vision Pro

Apple Explores Lower Resolution Screens for More Affordable Apple Vision Pro
A new report suggests that Apple is considering using lower-resolution displays for a budget-friendly Apple Vision Pro. The company is believed to be sampling displays at a lower resolution than initially planned. Japan Display Inc (JDI) has delivered a test sample with a resolution of approximately 1,500 pixels per inch (ppi). This is significantly lower than the current Apple Vision Pro, which offers around 3,380 ppi. The move to lower resolution screens may help Apple make its Vision Pro more affordable for consumers. Separately, a report in June 2024 indicated that Apple had halted work on an updated Apple Vision Pro 2 in favor of a more consumer-priced version.
