Apple Maps has started showing users the Gulf of Mexico when they search for 'Gulf of America'. The change comes in response to an executive order signed by President Trump which renamed the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.
When searching for 'Gulf of America', the text over the Gulf changes to show this, but the information sheet still displays details about it being the Gulf of Mexico. This may be a temporary measure while Apple updates its databases.
