Apple Paves the Way for Google Gemini Integration with Apple Intelligence

Apple Preparing for Google Gemini Integration with Apple Intelligence
Apple is reportedly planning to integrate Google’s Gemini AI model into its Apple Intelligence platform, which currently supports directing Siri requests to ChatGPT. The potential integration was revealed in a backend update alongside iOS 18.4 beta, where both “Google” and “OpenAI” options were found for third-party models within the platform. This suggests that while it may not be included in iOS 18.4, the feature is likely to be introduced in a future iOS 18 update or iOS 19.
Apple’s own conversational Siri model is expected to debut in iOS 19. Google recently released new versions of Gemini, including a reasoning model, which could be integrated into iPhones with the latest hardware, such as the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16/16 Pro, and the new iPhone 16e.
