Apple Paves Way for Google Gemini Integration in Future iOS Update

Apple seems to be gearing up to integrate Google Gemini into its Apple Intelligence platform. This development was revealed through code found in the iOS 18.4 beta, indicating that Apple plans to offer users an alternative to its existing ChatGPT integration. The company has always been transparent about its intention to collaborate with multiple AI providers, and this move aligns with their strategy. Despite being announced as a planned integration back in March 2024, the actual addition has taken over a year. Like the ChatGPT integration, Google Gemini will be processed on-device by Siri before being passed to the AI service, ensuring user privacy. The feature is expected to remain free for users, with paid options potentially introduced no earlier than 2027.
